Description

Systems Engineering is the foundation for successful products and architectures. You learn to think in systems, to structure complex tasks, to evaluate dependencies and to model systems. Complex systems with hardware, software and mechanics are a special challenge. Systems Engineering provides the methods to deal with it.

Our training introduces to systematic systems engineering. The training is based on the applicable industry standards, such as INCOSE, CMMI and ASPICE. Many practical examples ensure hands-on learning that goes beyond the mere theory of the systems engineering standards. You will become familiar with frequently used methods of systems engineering in the areas of system requirements, system architecture, system integration and system testing. In particular, you understand the interaction of the technical core processes between system and software level. With our practice-oriented training, you will be able to transfer what you have learned into your everyday project life and use it productively.

Contents and Agenda

  • Introduction to Systems Engineering
  • System theory: What is a system? Interplay of the system, software and hardware levels. Organizational structure versus process
  • Concepts and Methods of Systems Engineering. Systems engineering process model. Structured documentation. Traceability
  • Systems modeling with SysML
  • Development Process in Systems Engineering: Requirements, Architecture, Integration, Verification and Validation, Maintenance and Updates
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Agile Systems Engineering and Agile Scaling
  • Quality models and system level assessment, e.g. ASPICE and CMMI relevance, architecture, evaluation, safety, cybersecurity, complexity, technical debt
  • Concrete implementation and best practice (Vector experiences and practical tips for introducing and improving systems engineering in your own company, tool support)
  • Questions from the practice of the participants

Basis for the training is the Curriculum on INCOSE.
