Dr. Christof Ebert, Managing Director of Vector Consulting Services, has been elected to the governing board of the German Computer Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. GI, Software Engineering).
In the German Computer Society, Ebert directs the activities on "Software Measurement and Evaluation". This group deals with the quantification of all areas of software engineering. It focuses on quantitative assessments with metrics, project management, risk management, measurement theory, quality management and of course experimental software engineering. This work thus forms the theoretical and practical background for an efficient IT-Controlling. The scientific background is empirical software engineering, with all related questions on validation in software engineering. This of course closely connects to many practical topics , such as benchmarking and effort estimation.
Vector together with Daimler AG and Robert Bosch GmbH are the only companies directing a computer society working group and thus keeping software technology within the GI on an industry-relevant course.
