The MISRA DAY 2010 is aimed at software developers, testers, quality managers and project managers developing embedded or safety-critical software in C or C + +.
It addresses industries following the MISRA Standard, such as aerospace, as well as industries and companies without explicit coding standards, such as medical, aerospace engineering, railways etc.
Date: 29th September 2010
Venue: Schorndorf, Germany (close to Stuttgart), the birthplace of Gottlieb Daimler.
Vector Presentation: Pragmatically improving software quality of safe embedded software systems
Abstract: Failing vehicle engines, defective airbag triggers, manipulated tachographs are problems caused by defective software. Especially in safety-critical embedded systems, which are used for example in motor vehicles, railway systems and medical equipment, software defects may cause property damage, injuries and deaths. Safety-critical systems therefore not only demand stringent engineering processes from requirements engineering to design and validation, but also a high quality of software code. In our presentation we will provide practical examples of how the MISRA rules contribute to software safety and security. Based on our experience in numerous companies we present the often conflicting ideas about the use of MISRA rules and provide pragmatic guidance for efficient implementation.
